Ar. Ada FUNG
Panel Chair

Ar. Ada FUNG is an Architect by profession. She is an active member in the architectural field and the construction industry in Hong Kong & Asia Pacific Region. She has been the Deputy Director of Housing supervising the Development & Construction Division of the Housing Department until end of 2017.

Ar. FUNG is the President of the Lighthouse Club (HK) and Director of the World Green Building Council, the Hong Kong Green Building Council and Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre. She is also the Chairperson of the Committee on Building Information Modelling (BIM) of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and serves as Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Ltd. She is an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Hong Kong, and serves as Advisor to various Associations and Institutions in the fields of architecture, engineering, environment, construction, safety, smart city, quality, project management, BIM, etc.

Ar. FUNG was the past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (2013 - 2014), past Chairperson of the APEC Architect Monitoring Committee of Hong Kong (2012/13 - 2015/16), the Architects Registration Board (2010/11 - 2011/12) and the Committee on Construction Safety of the CIC (2016 & 2017).

Ar. FUNG has received Lighthouse Club's Golden Helmet Award for Safety Leadership (2012), CIC's BIMer of the Year Award (2014) and International Passive and Low Energy Architecture Award (2018).

Dr. Calvin KAM

A licensed architect as well as an engineer in the USA, Dr. Calvin KAM is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University's Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE), where he specializes in strategic innovation such as Management Scorecards, Building Information Modeling, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Sustainable Developments and Smart Cities Evaluation. Dr. KAM is the Founder of Strategic Building Innovation | bimSCORE—the "GPS Navigator" for any enterprise or project team charting a course for construction innovation. Calvin is an appointed international BIM expert for the Singapore government's Building Construction Authority and the only international Honorary Director of the China National BIM Union. At the American Institute of Architects, Dr. Kam has served as the former National Co-Chairman of the Center for Integrated Practice and former National Chairman of Technology Knowledge Community. Calvin was a recipient of various AIA, ASCE, SOM, Stanford University Fellowships, ENR's "20 under 40" and the BD&C's "40 under 40" awards.

Mr. Stephen LEUNG

Mr. Stephen LEUNG is an architect by profession. He has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry in both the private and public sectors.

In his position as Assistant Director of Housing, he leads a multi-disciplinary team for the implementation of public housing developments in Hong Kong, covering a wide spectrum of tasks on projects from feasibility, planning, design to construction stages as well as on development and procurement central functions. He has been steering and overseeing the development and application of information technology including but not limited to Building Information Modeling (BIM), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Information and Technology to enhance the business practices of the Development and Construction Division of the Housing Authority.

Mr. Paul MUI

Panel Member

Mr. Paul MUI is an Architect registered in the UK and HK. He graduated from the HKU with 1st Class Honors, Dean's List and AIA Scholastic Award then from the AA in London with a High Pass in technical thesis.

Paul has 15 years of local and overseas professional experience with expertise in complex geometries and BIM execution in mega scale projects. Previously he worked for KPF London, Aedas Ltd and Hospital Authority. His projects include Abu Duhbi Airport, XRL West Kowloon Terminus, Queen Mary Hospital redevelopment and Zhuhai Macao Bridge Border Crossing Facility. 

His co-founded design group Bread Studio has won over 25 international competition awards which include the 1st prize in HKBCF Design Competition and the recent 1st prize in the Gateway Design Competition for Victoria Park.
Paul is an Adjunct Assistant Professor (PT) in HKU architecture and a Lecturer (PT) in HKUSPACE and HKDI. He holds workshops and gives lectures in other universities and professional institutes around the world. His research and design works have been reported and published extensively by international media such as CNN, NY Times, Reuters, BBC and SCMP.

Mr. Eric POON

Panel Member

Mr. Eric POON, a qualified Quantity Surveyor, is currently the Director of Works and Contracts Division in the Urban Renewal Authority leading multi-disciplinary teams to manage and monitor all the redevelopment projects. He is currently the member of the Committee on Building Information Modelling and the Committee on Environment of the Construction Industry Council respectively, and the co-opted member of the Committee on Industry Standards and Practices of the Hong Kong Green Building Council.

Ir Kelvin WONG

Panel Member

Ir Kelvin WONG began his career with Airport Authority Hong Kong in 1995 as a graduate engineer in the new airport project department. Since then he has held a series of management positions, most recently as Deputy General Manager, Technical Services under Engineering and Technology Division and is accountable for the engineering, maintenance and new technology development aspects of the Hong Kong International Airport.

Kelvin is a professional engineer with over twenty years' experience in airport engineering field, with an emphasis on airport systems and infrastructure projects for the Hong Kong International Airport.

Kelvin is an active participant in building and construction community. He is a committee member of BIM in CIC and a Task Force member on BIM Standards of CIC to help advocate on adoption of BIM for Capital Works Projects and building facilities management in Hong Kong.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree, with first class honours, in electrical engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a master's degree in Building Services Engineering from the University of Hong Kong.
