Ar. Prof. Ada FUNG

Ar. Prof. Ada FUNG, BBS is an Architect by profession. She is an active member in the architectural field and the construction industry in Hong Kong & Asia Pacific Region. She has been the Deputy Director of Housing supervising the Development & Construction Division of the Housing Department until end of 2017.

Ar. Prof. FUNG is the President of the Lighthouse Club (HK), member of Advisory Council on the Environment, Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre and Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee. She is the Chairperson of the Committee on Building Information Modelling (BIM) of the Construction Industry Council (CIC), President of the Hong Kong Alliance of Built Asset & Environment Information Management Associations and Chairperson of Hong Kong Chapter of BuildingSMART International. She is an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Hong Kong, and serves as Advisor to various Associations and Institutions in the fields of architecture, engineering, environment, construction, safety, smart city, quality, project management, BIM, etc.

Ar. Prof. FUNG was the past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (2013 - 2014), past Chairperson of the APEC Architect Monitoring Committee of Hong Kong (2012/13 - 2015/16), the Architects Registration Board (2010/11 - 2011/12) and the Committee on Construction Safety of the CIC (2016 & 2017), Director of the World Green Building Council (2018-2020) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (2014-2019).

Ar. Prof. FUNG has received Lighthouse Club's Golden Helmet Award for Safety Leadership (2012), CIC's BIMer of the Year Award (2014) and International Passive and Low Energy Architecture Award (2018), Distinguished Faculty of Architecture Fellow in the Faculty of Architecture, University of Hong Kong (2019).

Ir Alfred WONG

Ir Alfred WONG is currently a Principal Assistant Secretary (Works) in the Development Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, overseeing the works policies related to water supply, construction materials and Building Information Modelling (BIM).  After obtaining the professional qualification in civil engineering, he joined the Water Supplies Department in 1993.  He worked in various areas of water supply including design, construction, operation and maintenance of waterworks installations, as well as devising water supply planning policy and managing the supply of raw water from Dongjiang.  In 2022, he was posted to the Development Bureau as Principal Assistant Secretary (Works) to formulate and implement BIM roadmap for the construction industry.  He is a member of CIC Committee on BIM and CIC BIM Certification and Accreditation Board.  He is continuously propelling in the industry various BIM related initiatives including construction digitalization roadmap, BIM key performance indicators, BIM personnel capacity building, etc

Dr. Jack CHENG

Dr. Jack CHENG is currently an Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Director of BIM Lab, Director of RFID Center, and Associate Director of GREAT Smart Cities Center at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He has been teaching and conducting research related to BIM and digital construction at HKUST for over a decade. His research interests include BIM, IoT, artificial intelligence, computer vision, laser scanning, construction robotics, construction management, and smart and green buildings. He has co-authored over 250 publications. He is currently the Chairperson of CIC BIM Standards Task Force, President of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Greater China Section, Chairman of Autodesk Industry Advisory Board (AIAB), Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modeling (HKIBIM), Director of Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), and Editorial Board Member of several international journals. He is a Professional Member of HKIBIM, CIC-Certified BIM Manager, and a Certified Carbon Auditor Professional (CAP). He has received the Construction Industry Outstanding Person Award in 2019 and Young BIMer of the Year in 2014 from the CIC.

Ir Prof. CHUNG Kwok-fai

Ir Prof. CHUNG Kwok-fai is an internationally renowned academic, researcher and structural engineer with established expertise in steel construction. Currently, Prof. Chung is a Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Founding President of the Hong Kong Constructional Metal Structures Association. From 2000 to 2007, Prof. Chung served the Structural Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and also the Institution of Structural Engineers in the U.K. in various capacities.  He was elected to be a Council Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers from 2013 to 2015.  Prof. Chung was also elected to be Vice President of the Institution of Structural Engineers for the periods of 2017 / 18 and 2019 / 20. In October 2015, Prof. Chung was appointed to be Director of Chinese National Engineering Research Centre for Steel Construction (Hong Kong Branch) by the State Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China.

Prof. Chung works on a wide range of inter-disciplinary engineering research, especially on modern steel and steel-concrete composite structures. For many years, he participated drafting of design standards and codes of practice on buildings and steel structures in Hong Kong, the U.K., the European Communities and China. His professional and research works were also adopted in large scale construction projects of steel structures in both Hong Kong and China.

Sr Dr Calvin KEUNG

Sr Dr Calvin KEUNG is a quantity surveyor by profession and the core academic staff teaching BIM at CityU. To keep pace with the increased BIM talent demand, Sr Dr Keung has designed the BIM curriculum and set up BIM courses for undergraduate students. Sr Dr Keung adopts a collaborative approach to BIM education, so he has developed innovative facilities and tools supporting interdisciplinary BIM teaching and research. Sr Dr Keung is also active in BIM promotion and development in Hong Kong. He has promoted BIM in quantity surveying and has contributed to various professional institutions. Sr Dr Keung was elected BIMers 2020 by the Construction Industry Council in recognition of his exemplary effort in promoting the use of BIM in the construction industry and tertiary education.

Ir Ken MAO

Ir Ken MAO is a Registered Professional Engineer, member of HKIE, chartered member of CIOB and Head of Technical of the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM) (2021-2023). He has over 23 years of experience in construction in Hong Kong, He has been one of the pioneers in BIM development and implementation for a local first-tier construction company for over 10 years, establishing and leading a team of BIM specialists in enhancing corporate BIM standards, achieving BIM Level 2 verification certification, engaging in BIM training programs and adopting BIM across projects.

Ir Ken MAO has possessed a passion for construction technology in which he has developed several innovative and practical digital applications for enhancing site safety management. Some of which have been recognized by Innovative Safety Initiative Award 2020 - Sliver Award under Safety Management System, Training and Promotion category.

He will continue his commitment to enhance people, process and technology for BIM development in Hong Kong without hesitation when necessary.

Ir Dr. Llewellyn TANG

Ir Dr. Llewellyn TANG, currently Associate Professor in Building Information Modelling in the University of Hong Kong, Chartered Engineer (MHKIE), Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB), Fellow of the Chartered institution of Engineering Surveyors (FCInstCES), Fellow for the Higher Education Academy in the UK (FHEA), former Deputy Chairman for the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (UK Chapter), and former member of the Construction Excellence BIM Task Group for the UK government.
In the last decade, Tang and his team led and involved in many large-scale BIM and information management R&D projects for infrastructure and smart city development in the UK, China and Hong Kong. In 2018, he led the development of a strategic framework for a national new smart city in China based on BIM, GIS, IoT and Blockchain technologies. During the same year, Tang successfully introduced the UK BIM level 2 (PAS1192/ISO 19650) into China helping the most significant asset management company to tap the value of digitisation, and its ecosystem reshaping.

Mr. Billy WONG

Mr. Billy WONG is a respected BIM veteran, dedicated to forging a culture of positive change and growth.

He is currently the Head of BIM Department of Hip Hing Construction, implementing strategies to scale up the application of BIM, and nurturing the next generation of BIM talents. Billy garnered the BIMer of the year 2020. 

Billy has demonstrated a wealth of experiences in the AEC technologies. Apart from BIM, his expertise includes Reality Capture, 3D Printing, DfMA and Design Optimization processes.

In his career, Billy contributed to the rise of more than 16 iconic projects worldwide, which includes One Island East, OPUS Hong Kong by Frank Gehry, Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in South Korea by Zaha Hadid. 

Billy strives to serve the industry and push its boundaries. He is now the Director of HKABAEIMA (buildingSMART - HK Chapter) and CIC BIM Taskforce Committee Member.

Mr. Froky WONG

Mr. Froky WONG, Board Member of HKIBIM and Manager, BIM at Airport Authority Hong Kong. He has obtained a Master’s degree in Intelligent Building Technology and Management. Over 15 years of work experience on BIM implementation, development and management in Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Owner-operated (AECO) projects, i.e. Design and construction projects in Hong Kong, Shanghai, South Korea, Australia, UAE and Qatar. He is also experienced in GIS-based BIM asset maintenance solutions. i.e. Building Information Modelling (BIM) for Digital Engineering, Integrated Project Delivery and Facilities Asset Management solutions. As a passionate BIM Practitioner, he is interested in AECO related Digital Engineering Technologies, i.e. BIM, DfMA, MiC, FM, AM, GIS and Digital Twin. As a Board member of HKIBIM. He engaged himself in BIM development and promotion for the Hong Kong construction industry.

Mr. Kevin WONG

Mr. Kevin WONG had over 20 years' engineering design and BIM software platform implementation experience in large-scaled construction projects in Hong Kong. He received a distinguished award as "BIMer of Year 2020" by CIC for his outstanding contributions on the industry. Being a BIM enthusiast, Kevin possessed both engineering design background and application of BIM Software using integrated design approach from early design stage downstream to fabrications and handover stages to clients in the project lifecycle. During his works as CIC Certified BIM Manager for his BIM Consultancy jobs and training courses in his own business, he showed his passion and ability in delivering high quality contents and results for all stakeholders involved in BIM project. 

As the Chairman of HKIBIM, Members of CIC BIMCAB Committee, Assessor of CCBM, and the Director of HKABEIMA and Event Manager of buildingSMART HK Chapter for openBIM, he continues to apply his professional knowledge and commitments on BIM for all practitioners in construction field.  He was also appointed as part-time BIM Lecturer for educational institutions including HKU SPACE, VTC, HKIC, and CUSCS.
