CIC BIM Solution Day on BIM in E&M Works (RE-RUN on MagiCAD)

16/10/2019 | 14:00 – 17:30

(Received the overwhelming feedback on previous CIC's "BIM Solution Day on E&M Works (MagiCAD)", there is RE-RUN session to be held at CIC BIM.) The CIC "BIM Solution Day" aims at promoting the latest BIM related solutions to stakeholders. Every time, we have different theme to introduce stakeholders about the latest solutions of a particular area. During the event, participants would be able to experience: Product introduction seminars and successful user experience sharing; Product hands-on workshops; and Exhibition booth BIM Product to be introduced: MagiCAD (www.magicad.com) MagiCAD Contains 7 Modules including Ventilation, Piping, Electrical, Schematics, Quantity Survey, Support& Hanger, Cloud BIM Object Database, which meets the E&M BIM demand from design stage, tender stage and even construction stage. The powerful modelling tool, database with millions of BIM objects, accurate engineering calculation make E&M BIM modelling and design simple and easy. It not only makes BIM more flexible and less time-consuming but also provide solutions to optimize the design, which satisfies consultants and contractors' different requirements. Last but no least, it is a easy tool to use which lowers the entry barrier of E&M BIM. Even though a rookie of BIM could learn how to use E&M BIM in a short time. We are glad to have the participation of Glodon again, please refer to the following event details. Time Programme 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm Registration 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Session 1: Introduction Seminar of MagiCAD + Live Demonstration to explain how MagiCAD works (Capacity: 28) 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm Break 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm Session 2: Hands-on Workshop on MagiCAD (Capacity: 28) Seats are limited, registration is based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Briefing on the CIC BIM Certification and Accreditation Schemes

18/10/2019 | 16:30 – 18:00

In 2017, the HKSAR Government decreed that BIM technology must be used in the design and construction of all major government capital works projects with a project estimate of more than HK$30 million that were scheduled to start during or after 2018, and that the use of this technology in private construction projects should also be promoted. This has generated a surge in demand for BIM personnel and training needs. To ensure that construction professionals have appropriate skill levels and competency in using BIM technology, and that the scope and quality of BIM courses provided in the market meet the requirements, it was important to establish a certification body for BIM personnel and an accreditation body for BIM courses in Hong Kong. To facilitate the healthy development of BIM in Hong Kong, CIC has introduced the Building Information Modelling Personnel Certification and Training Course Accreditation Schemes (the “Schemes”) to ascertain the competency of BIM personnel and the quality of local BIM training courses. This briefing aims to raise your understanding on the Schemes including the objective, eligibility, application procedures and assessment criteria, etc. You are cordially invited to attend the briefing to prepare for application of the Schemes. Enquires: Should you have any queries, please contact Ms. Chong (email: bimcas@cic.hk; tel: 3199 7183) and Mr. Chan (email: bimcas@cic.hk; tel: 2100 9069).
