CIC Webinar on Launching of Enhanced CIC BIM Portal Object Library

In the webinar, we will introduce the new features of our enhanced BIM object library and BIM standards-related publication pages in the CIC BIM Portal. Also, speakers from the Development Bureau is invited to share the background of DEVB BIM Harmonisation Guidelines for Works Departments (Hyperlink), and its connection with the CIC BIM object library. At the latter part of the webinar, about naming convention / standards of BIM objects, representatives from the CEDD will share more details on the Master Type List of Cat-Code and Sub-Cat Code in the DEVB BIM Harmonisation Guidelines for Works Departments, and representatives from the Family Library Interchange Programme (F.L.I.P.) will share the history of F.L.I.P. Master Type List. These two Master Type lists have been incorporated into the CIC's Master List, which is software-neutral, and will be launched on 1 June 2022 with a registry for use by the industry. To promote the awareness and understanding of the Building Information Modelling (BIM), CIC is pleased to organize a new event named "BIM Awareness Seminar and Workshop 2.0" in CIC BIM Space for the industry. Similar to the previous "BIM Awareness Seminar" (Half-day) and "BIM Awareness Seminar and Workshop" (Full-day), the content of the "BIM Awareness Seminar and Workshop 2.0" has been upgraded with hands-on experience on BIM software and related technologies. The CIC BIM Advanced Workshop aims at enhancing practitioners' BIM skill level by providing hands-on opportunities on different BIM-related software. This time, we are pleased to have Autodesk in supporting our BIM Advanced Workshop. Content of the workshop (Information provided by vendor): Learn how to use Python in Dynamo to enable more editing options than ever before. Python is one of the fastest-growing scripting languages and can be used for daily tasks in your own projects. Dynamo can let you directly input Python code into your scripts to do things regular nodes can't. This workshop will lead you through how to plan, edit, and execute your own scripts with Python for Dynamo. Learn about the essentials of setting up your own Python script, and edit geometry, sort data lists, write content to Revit software, and much more. With Python, you can unleash the potential in your projects so come and see what's possible. This workshop will cover: Explain workflow between Python, Dynamo and Revit; Python basics: variables, conditionals, operators, loops, and functions; Customise Dynamo node by Python; Revit and Dynamo conversions; Python and Revit API.
